| So I've moved my old silver Z over to my place to strip it. It was previously being stored at my aunt's place, in a garage off behind the house. At my place, it's under a tarp, in the driveway in front of my garage. So it's a little more exposed. 3 weeks ago my neighbor had his BMW 335 vandalized; they ripped off the spoiler, tried to steal the headlights, mangled the bumper. So I knew there were some unsavory characters lurking around. So my tenant called me this morning to let me know it looked like someone was snooping around my car. The tarp was lifted and the driver side door was cracked open. I went over to check it out, and then I smiled and laughed. I checked my garage, and there was no attempt to break in there, so I laughed again. I should be nervous, I know, but I couldn't help but laugh when I pictured the thieves faces when they lifted the tarp, and looked inside the car, only to find out that it had already been stripped. I had taken 98% of the valuable stuff off or out of the car; t-tops, j-spec tails, interior panels, engine, transmission, headlights, bumper etc etc. This is how they found the car:

I've since removed even more stuff from the car and placed everything in my storage unit off site. I've also added a motion activated pair of flood lights above my garage door, and an alarm on the garage people door. Fuck thieves, I should really just hook a battery to the car chassis and give them some juice. Funny thing is I lost 60 cents on the ground behind the hatch when I was laying down, and they didn't take that. So this coming Sunday she goes to her new owner. She'll be living out her second life as a track-only car, but I'm glad someone else can get some enjoyment from her. Just a shame thinking that the car went from this:
